Development of Community Based Structures for Sustainable Environmental Protection Project has been implemented at Don Bosco INT province since 2020. The project comprises of various activities such as formation of children eco clubs and community eco clubs, clean up drives, tree plantation and organizing awareness campaigns. The activities are intensively directed towards safeguarding and protecting the environment.
Project partners meeting and animators training of the project for this year was held at Don Bosco Media, Manikandam on 17th & 18th of March 2023. On 17.03.2023 Project partners meeting was held among project staff and 17 project partners from all three zones. Meeting started with invocation and welcome note. Rev. Fr. Amaladoss Samson Provincial Economer INT & Director– Cauveri PDO & Rev. Fr. Amalorpavaraj Executive Director – Cauveri PDO facilitated the meeting. The respective zonal directors Rev. Fr. John Barnabass, Rev. Fr. Bernatsha Dominic & Rev. Fr. Bharath Jeyaraj presented a short report of the activities held so far. During the meeting evaluation of earlier activities and strategies for way forward and successful implementation of the project was discussed and analyzed.
On 18.03.2023 animators training was held and 120 animators from all three zones participated. The training started with invocation and welcome note. Rev. Fr. Amaladoss Samson Provincial Economer INT & Director– Cauveri PDO extended Inaugural address and felicitated the gathering. During his address he has mentioned about realizing the significance of the resources invested and appreciated achievements. Rev. Fr. Amalorpavaraj Executive Director – Cauveri PDO explained the significance attached to the project in creating a tremendous positive output. He has also discussed about new strategies to be adopted in taking the project way forward to achieve the positive outputs. Rev. Fr. Bernatsha Dominic Zonal Director II – Dindigul addressed the participants on the significance and individual responsibility in wise utilization of the natural resources. He has also insisted on the significant aspect of transferring the resource to the younger generation in future. Zonal level record verification, evaluation of the activities carried out earlier and planning for the future endeavors was held in the afternoon and was facilitated by the respective Zonal Directors and Zonal Coordinators. The training was perceived as a success with active participation of the animators and many new ideas emerged during the discussions.
