The Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE) Central Team conducted an animation and planning meeting with the Province Team of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) on 7 July 2026 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Kallukuzhy, Trichy. Fr. Doss Kennedy, Provincial, Fr. Victor Antonyraj, Vice Provincial, Fr. Ricopar Royan, Economer, Fr. Ashok Lawrence, Province Project Director, Fr. Barnabass John, Province Team Member; Fr. Vimalan, Province Team Member; Fr. Clan Zackarias of the Media Team; and Mr. Kalaiarasan, Project Executive attended this meeting. The Central Team was represented by Fr. Tony Pellissery, National Director of the Mission Poverty Eradication Programme, and Ms. Neha, Project Coordinator. The programme commenced with an invocation, praying for God’s blessings upon the poor and marginalized communities whom the Mission Poverty Eradication initiative seeks to serve. Fr. Ashok welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to the Central Team for their availability and their commitment to animating and guiding the Province Team.

One of the significant sessions of the meeting focused on the process and identification of the province’s primary target group under the Mission Poverty Eradication Programme. The presentation led to fruitful discussions, enabling the team to refine its priorities and ensure that future interventions are directed towards those who are most vulnerable and in greatest need. The Province Team also presented the finalized list of essential documentation required for each of the eight outputs of the MPE Programme. As the Province Team presented the province’s commitments and targets to be achieved by the year 2030, the Central Team encouraged the participants to view these numerical targets not merely as statistical achievements but as a means of expanding the province’s outreach so that an ever-growing number of poor and marginalized families may experience meaningful transformation through the programme.

The Central Team further animated the participants through a detailed presentation and analysis of the findings of the Community Audit 2025. The reflections offered valuable insights into the implementation of the programme across the Salesian Provinces of South Asia and provided practical guidance for conducting the forthcoming Community Audit 2026 with greater clarity, participation and commitment. The meeting also included planning for Rewind 2026, scheduled to be held in Delhi on 9–10 September 2026 in the presence of the Rector Major and major donor partners. The Central Team highlighted the importance of meticulous preparation for the event, emphasizing that the Province’s presentations should effectively communicate the significant impact of the Mission Poverty Eradication Programme and the dedicated services being rendered by the Salesian Province of Tiruchy for the welfare of the poor, the marginalized and the abandoned. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Fr. Victor Antonyraj, Vice Provincial, who expressed sincere appreciation to the Central Team for their guidance, encouragement and continued accompaniment of the INT Province. As a gesture of gratitude and fraternity, Fr. Doss Kennedy, Provincial, presented a token of appreciation to the members of the Central Team. The meeting served as an important moment of reflection, planning and strategic decision-making to strengthen the province’s commitment towards reaching the poorest and the marginalized.
