The WELEAD Awareness Campaign, Cycle Rally was organized by Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem, in collaboration with Don Bosco Tiruchy- Cauvery Development Office, on 26th June 2026 at 3.00 p.m. in the Colony, Veerapandi Village, Salem. The programme aimed to create awareness on women’s leadership, gender equality and the importance of collective responsibility in building an inclusive and empowered society.
The programme began with a short inaugural address by Fr. David, Administrator, Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem. In his message, he highlighted the importance of recognizing and encouraging women’s leadership and called upon everyone to support women in taking active roles in their families, communities and society.
A total of 45 participants, including women, youth and men enthusiastically took part in the awareness rally. Holding placards with awareness slogans on women’s leadership and empowerment, the participants cycled and also walked through the streets of Veerapandi village. During the rally, they distributed awareness pamphlets to the public, spreading messages on women’s leadership, gender equality and community participation. The rally attracted the attention of the local residents who appreciated the initiative and received the awareness messages positively.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Rosy, WELEAD Staff, whose dedicated planning and guidance ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the campaign. The active involvement of the participants and volunteers made the awareness rally meaningful and impactful.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to volunteers and all 45 participants for their wholehearted support and cooperation. The campaign concluded successfully with the message, Strong Women – Strong Leaders – Stronger Society.
