Spiritual Direction Animation Program for Leaders

The Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) organized a five-day animation program on Spiritual Direction for Leaders, held from March 11th to 15th, 2025, at Don Bosco Manikandam, Trichy. This faith-formation program was animated by Fr. Sundar Wilson, OFM, who guided the participants through both theoretical and practical sessions.

Exploring the Role of a Spiritual Director

Fr. Wilson led sessions on various aspects and dimensions of becoming an effective spiritual director. He helped INT Leaders explore their emotive behaviors, undergo a process of healing, and integrate spirituality into their daily lives. The sessions also addressed key topics such as managing emotions, understanding gender differences, and deepening the practice of spiritual direction.

Self-Awareness and Spiritual Growth

Participants expressed gratitude for this enriching experience, emphasizing how self-awareness fosters a better understanding of others and enhances their journey in spiritual guidance.

Insights from the INT Formation Commission

During the evening sessions, the INT Formation Commission shared key insights from the manual “Psycho-Sexual & Celibate Integration for Young Salesians in Practical Training and College Studies.” These discussions provided valuable reflections on personal and spiritual growth.

Strengthening Youth Pastoral Ministry

This initiative served as a significant step forward in strengthening the process of spiritual direction within the youth pastoral ministry of the province. The event was coordinated by Fr. Xavier Michael, Vice Provincial, with the dedicated support of Fr. Charles, Rector, and the Salesian community of Manikandam, who ensured the smooth execution of the program.
