Green Champions Animation Programme at St. Joseph’s High School
As part of the project “Empowering Rural Children and Youth as Young Green Champions for an Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Future,” Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur, conducted a Green Champions Animation Programme on 27 August 2026 at St. Joseph’s High School, Thirumalairayapuram. A total of 87 students (60 boys and 27 girls) from Classes VIII and IX participated enthusiastically. The interactive session was animated by Rev. Fr. Arul Antony, SDB, focusing on environmental protection and sustainable living. Students reflected on issues such as pollution, plastic waste, deforestation and the wastage of natural resources. They were encouraged to adopt simple practices such as reducing plastic use, saving water and electricity, keeping their surroundings clean, and planting and protecting trees. The programme inspired the students to take individual responsibility and become active Green Champions in their school, homes and communities. The programme was made possible through the valuable cooperation and support of the school management and teachers.
