The CRC Capacity Building Training for Tutors – Zone II was successfully conducted on 31 October 2026, with the participation of 63 tutors from six CRC centres—Alangulam, Keelaeral, Nettur, Sayalkudi, Vilathikulam and Cholapuram. The tutors were accompanied by their respective Salesian community leaders and CRC coordinators.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Joseph Jones, Project Manager, followed by the formal welcome of the guests of honour. He presented a consolidated report on the activities carried out under the CRC Project during the previous year, highlighting the major achievements, interventions and progress made through the CRC centres.

The technical session on Child Rights and Child Protection was facilitated by Fr. Amalaorpavaraj, Director, VEMBU, Vilathikulam, an experienced child-care professional and resource person. He presented relevant statistical information on child-related issues and sensitised the tutors to the importance of their role in ensuring the safety, well-being and development of children. He also explained the roles and responsibilities of CRC tutors and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with greater commitment and sensitivity.

Mr. Arockiya Raj, Project Coordinator, CRC, introduced the tutors to the latest updates and changes in the CRC MIS system. The participants received hands-on training in using the MIS platform for recording attendance, monitoring academic performance and documenting and sharing the success stories of CRC children. The practical sessions enabled the tutors to strengthen their confidence in using the system effectively.

The training concluded with practical MIS exercises, clarification of technical and administrative queries, and a separate session for the administrative heads on monitoring and supporting the activities of CRC tutors. The programme came to an end  with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Joseph Jones, Project Manager.
